Mushrooms, Mushrooms, Mushrooms!
Now that the heat and humidity of Summer have passed us by, it is time to prepare for all the activities Fall brings. The abundance of mushrooms in our local forests and parks are prime indicators of this seasonal transition. This week’s video highlights four of the common fruiting bodies found in the woodlot across from the Longview Farm.

Ilya insisted on going on a nature walk with Aaron to forage more chicken of the woods where he last saw them. They are conspiring to document the best way to cook up some yummy mushrooms found here on the farm. - Jessi
Changing with the Seasons
As the sun sets earlier in the evening and its glow illuminates the changing colors of the leaves, I take a moment to revisit all I have accomplished so far this year. One of the things I am most proud of is my involvement with the Longview Farm. It is so satisfying to be part of an organization that encourages personal growth through the interaction with art, the Earth, and other human beings.
The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of all kinds. - Dalai Lama
Take a peek at how these plants are changing as we approach the Autumn season.

Guests this Week
Ash & Eddie went on a walk with us around the farm. I got to practice my novice nature guide skills in person with our first guests this week. I knew what to pick and let them try like dandelions, red clover flowers, basil, mint, sage, tomato and mugs wart.

State of the Farm | September 2023
Looking back at the past 2 years, our land director, Ricky Roots who is behind our land initiatives here are the farm has quite a few entries from September that reflect our big ideas for the farm out of the gate.
Here are a few snippets from his journal, State of the Farm:
September 2023
For two weeks, the whole country watched as Cavalcante illuded authorities throughout Chester County, and eventually, was captured at a farm just north of Longview Farm… I heard enough about what Lundale [Farm] was doing that I knew we had to make a connection…
After we met Lundale’s Director, Becki Patterson, at their booth at Good Food Fest in Kimberton/Phoenixville, her guidance became a pivotal influence in our early days as we sought to establish Longview Farm as an ecological sanctuary.
…September 2023 is also significant as it was when Jessi and Ilya’s Celestial Celebration was held and the intention set for planting selected trees in memorial of family and loved ones around the property.
State of the Farm | Ricky Eller
We have our 2nd Annual Celestial Celebration Festival to celebrate our family with chosen family going on on September 27th this year. We invite you to be a part of our inner circle, to enjoy live music, potluck and a bonfire as we ceremoniously plant some of trees we selected for our 2023 ceremony.

September 2024
Today was an inspiring day at Longview Farm! We met with Tyler K from Reviving Wisdom for a land consultation walk. Tyler's expertise in ecological restoration was evident as we strolled through the property, discussing various strategies for sustainable management.

Building up HUMAN | ART | EARTH
LA! is an Earth initiative under the 3 core values behind everything we do on the farm to care for our fellow Humans, celebrate their accomplishments in the Arts, and protect the Earth we all live on.
Our goal for Longview Alive! thru the rest of 2025 is to introduce you to more of the wonderful projects we have going on here on the farm, tell you how we got here and tell you where we are going. We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do!
Thank you! to all of our Longview Alivers! -those of you who are following along with this series, commenting and engaging with our posts, attending our outdoor workshops, and supporting us when you buy merch from the gallery shop.
There are many new ways to engage with us in the works so stick around for more announcements.
