Longview Alive was created to provide updates on the activities, workshops, and improvements being made at the Longview Farm. It is the goal of the farm to engage with the public through art exhibits and land use initiatives. This week we will be exploring a trail through the woodlot and a few upgrades to the barn property. Are you ready to get started?
Let’s Go For a Hike
There are nearly a half mile of trails traversing the mixed forest across the road from the barn gallery. The Green trail takes one along the perimeter of this wooded property. It showcases the rich diversity of plants and animals common to this region of Pennsylvania.
We Are Always Evolving
A lot of great changes have been made to the barn gallery since its inception. With the assistance of our handyman Patrick Seyler, several features have been added. Through his vision and hard work, an inviting set of steps and paths now draw you into the gallery entrance.
There is a sense of balance and craftsmanship with everything Patrick creates.
On the south side of the barn he has installed a handmade trellis, soon filled with the flourishing Virginia Creeper found making its way up the barn wall. Finally, flower boxes are being redesigned to secure the posts that line the farm driveway.
