Save the Date | Our Second Artist Talk of the Year
Join us on April 26th to hear from exhibiting artist Raven George.
☆ As part of the Gallery’s Year of Yin, we are collaborating with artists to create programming around their exhibits, whether that be an artist talk, demo, or other.
On Saturday, April 26th, we will have a special event at The Longview Gallery: our second Artist Talk of the year! Exhibiting artist, Raven George, will discuss the inspirations and process that led to her exhibit, “Wildflower Joy,” as well as her artist practice in general.
Raven George explores the intersections of art, humanity, and activism, aiming to elevate voices and experiences that are often unheard. Through art, she was empowered to find her own voice and expression.
Her work in this exhibit explores themes related to childhood innocence and the raw emotions that shape our earliest experiences with connection and affection. It examines resilience in the face of violent circumstances and environments.
This artist talk presents an opportunity to participate in conversation, community, and reflection — activities that are increasingly more important in today’s society.
“As a woman of color who utilizes art as a tool, it is imperative to be a reflective mirror for viewers to come home to themselves and look inward.”
☆ Recap: 1st Month of “Wildflower Joy”
On the first Saturday in March, we celebrated the opening of Raven George’s solo exhibit. It was wonderful to see new and familiar faces. Over on Instagram, we captured the artist saying a few words at the opening reception!

You can listen to Raven George’s playlist for the reception here. We love the idea of an artist curating a playlist that functions as an auditory accompaniment to their visual exhibit.
As we enter the second month of “Wildflower Joy” at the Longview Gallery, join us for live music this weekend, April 5th, to celebrate!
☆ Last chance to experience Raven George’s work in our gallery!
Keep in mind that April 26th is the closing day of “Wildflower Joy.”
April 26th is also our 1st Annual Earth Day event! Bring your friends, family, and furry companions for a day of community, creativity, and environmental awareness. The artist talk is built into the event schedule.
Registering for the Artist Talk is recommended but not required. This just helps us keep in touch with you regarding similar events in the future!
Another way to keep track of important dates is by purchasing our 2025|26 Wall Calendar. The calendars are available during open hours or can be purchased online here.
