We hosted our 1st Annual Earth Day this past Saturday!
While we hoped to spend the day outside, the Spring weather had its own plan. Despite the rain, however, the event was lovely—and the sun arrived just in time for the last activity.
The afternoon began with an Artist Talk from the gallery’s exhibiting artist for March and April. If you missed it, you can access the recording here on Substack, or as a live on our Instagram page.

Yoga & Qigong
After the artist talk, guests were invited to participate in a combined, gentle yoga and qigong session, where Lori Rossi and Ed Howard led us through the foundations of each practice.
Lori and Ed have been teaching classes at the Longview Farm since the beginning of April! More information is on our Meetup page.
Community Music
The next activity was led by Longview Farm’s Patrick Seyler. He started the session with laughter yoga to get everyone warmed up and comfortable with his main activity: collective music creation and singing.
After releasing tension through laughter, we grabbed percussion instruments and Patrick led us in a group exercise. Followed with a moment of singing, beginning with sound ohm. Guests were invited to join in if they felt comfortable.
Late Afternoon Stroll
Our Earth Day event came to a close with a guided nature walk. Guests were invited to grab a cold beverage and join Jessi Stead for a stroll around the fields.
During the walk, Jessi and Ilya shared the history of the Longview Farm, as well as recent developments and future plans.
Thanks to everyone who joined us on Saturday to honor our planet and our exhibiting artist. It was a wonderful afternoon of being in community. We look forward to next year’s Earth Day celebration!
