Aaron’s focus this week was on capturing some beautiful shots and footage of the farm and the workshops.
Jessi’s week was spent in the garden and playing outdoors with her spirited daughter.
Workshop Week

We had a successful week of workshops here on the farm; made possible by 4 days of beautiful weather, talented instructors and our team members who were there to capture every detail.

We have some really exciting promotional and instructional videos to share with you very soon…
What’s Growing on at Longview?
In the growing's-on of the farm, we have had to say “so long” to the berries & wildflowers and “hello” yummy herbs and veggie blossoms!
Did you know all parts of thistle are edible? You can dry them up with your mint to make a nice tea.
Or you can enjoy the cooling essential oil concentrate of the mint flower in your next summer cocktail.
Pumpkin flowers too - ever heard of using squash blossoms in the culinary arts? Just lovely.

Edible Flower Warning!
Remember the Deadly Nightshade from Week 8? It’s called that for a reason!
While eggplant flowers and fruit are edible, I cannot recommend you try them unless you KNOW what you are doing.
Eggplant’s closest relative is Belladonna with its star shaped flowers and small purple fruit. One is edible and one is DEADLY.
They are both a part of the Nightshade family (along with tomatoes and peppers) and Belladonna’s common name is Deadly Nightshade because ALL parts are highly toxic.
