March
Reflections by Garland Sutton
Our first exhibition in The Longview Gallery! Garland Sutton made his debut with this collection of landscape photography. Originally from Salem, Virginia, Sutton has travelled extensively throughout the U.S. with his camera in hand. He now calls Philadelphia his home. You can view and purchase some of Sutton’s works here.

From Wild Eccentric Flowers to the Great Fallen Bosc by Alphonse Lane
Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Alphonse Lane had been painting this collection over the past two decades and is still adding to it. He has won the Charles Firth Award of Excellence and the Tri-State Artist Equity Award. In this collection, the flowers, with their whimsy, represent the Flower Power of youth (and the 60s). The pears, with their softness, represent dents and markings we absorb through life experiences. As a collection, they evoke the transition we undergo over time from vibrant enthusiasm to aged wisdom. You can view and purchase some of Alphonse’s works here. You can read more about Alphonse’s inspiration and artistic process here.
July
Casting Nets & Chasing Squirrels by Andrew Snyder
The multimedia and pottery work presented in this exhibition was thought-provoking and strikingly relatable. The exhibition examined pedagogical user interfaces and gave permission for unproductivity with an exploration of dissonance. Snyder utilized craft media approaches to challenge traditional narratives and evoke an ephemeral yet visceral dialogue. Andrew Snyder teaches ceramics at West Chester University. You can view and purchase some of his works here.
August
Our First Artist Demo!
On the final Saturday of August, Andrew Snyder held a live demonstration to celebrate the closing of his show, Casting Nets & Chasing Squirrels. He showcased the East Main Hand Wheel, a hand-powered potter’s wheel that he built (you can read more in the Studio Potter Journal).
Andrew demonstrated his process throwing various-sized plant potters, while enlightening us about the disappearing art behind this wheel and why he prefers it to the standard electric one.
We also enjoyed live music from Jimmy Edwards during our mid-show reception on August 3rd.
September
Satellite Keepsakes by Bryan DeProspero
Bryan DeProspero is an experienced artist who has shown his work in various galleries throughout the Philadelphia area. Born and raised in Delaware County, he has spent significant time exploring the visual stimuli of wooded and secluded areas, as well as the urban landscape of Philadelphia. These inspirations have influenced his oil paintings and mixed media works through material and process-based investigations. Accretion, transference, and the by-products of art-making all play major roles in his creative practice. You can view and purchase some of DeProspero’s works here.
1st Annual Celebration Fest
On Saturday, September 28th, Jessi, Ilya, and the Longview Farm community convened at the farm for the 1st Annual Celebration Fest! This event, which will return every year at the end of September or early October, is meant to bring together the incredible existing community and welcome newcomers into the fold. We enjoyed live music, a potluck-style food spread, crafts, and lots of laughs and smiles. You can read more about this event here and keep an eye out for our 2025 Celebration Fest!
November
2024 Holiday Exhibit
During the months of November and December, the gallery was transformed into a whimsical artisan market for the holiday season. We partnered with local art organizations, including Chester County Art Association and Aston Mills Arts, to display the works of up to 30 artists! You can view and purchase some of those works here.
1st Annual Black Friday Friends and Family Market
Local artists and artisans showcased their beautiful creations such as handmade jewelry, vintage finds, ceramics, textiles, and aromatic handcrafted soaps and this inaugural Black Friday Market. We put a new spin on Black Friday by asking our vendors to offer exclusive “friends and family” discounts. You can read more about this event here and keep your eye out for information on our 2025 Black Friday Market!
Stay tuned to learn more about our 2025 calendar of events! You can keep 1st Saturday evenings on your calendar for either an exhibition opening reception or a live music event in the barn! We hope to see you around the farm and beyond this year.
