Save the Date | Artist Talk
Hear from the current exhibiting artist and a West Chester University Professor.
Join us at the Longview Gallery on Saturday, February 22nd for a special event. Exhibiting artist, Hannah Zartman, will talk about “Toward a Tender Place” and some of the central themes present in the artwork.
The gallery doors will open at 12:30 pm, giving people a chance to trickle in, and the talk begins approximately at 1:00 pm.
The second speaker, Dr. Lisa Huebner, is a Professor of Women’s & Gender Studies at West Chester University and Director of The Women’s & Gender Studies Collection, an online, peer-reviewed resource available to everyone.
“The Collection seeks to create a community knowledge based in Women’s and Gender Studies. We aim to offer a more complete picture of our world by amplifying marginalized voices that are often overlooked.”
Throughout the year, Dr. Huebner will help facilitate events (discussions, workshops, etc.) that integrate exhibiting artists’ work with key themes present in her discipline. We’re looking forward to this collaboration!
Additional Details & Recap
Hannah Zartman’s solo show has been on display since its opening on January 4th. Last weekend, on 1st Saturday, we enjoyed music by Dan Frantz to celebrate the halfway point of the exhibit.
Enjoy these snapshots from the install, opening reception, and live music.

The Artist Talk is an opportunity to participate in conversation and community, two things that seem more important now than ever. If you’re available, come on out — and bring friends! We strive to provide an inclusive space.
February 22nd is also the closing day of “Toward a Tender Place.” Last chance to check out Hannah’s art in our space!
Registering here is recommended but not required. This lets us keep in touch regarding similar events in the future.
