Join us this week on Saturday, January 4th to celebrate the opening of a new solo exhibit at the Longview Gallery - “Toward a Tender Place” by Hannah Zartman.
We are pleased to welcome Hannah, a visual artist, for their first solo show outside of West Chester University! Having received a BFA in studio arts & printmaking, Hannah found a passion for methodical relief printing processes, specifically multi-color linoleum cut, and silkscreen.
This body of work holds many things: it holds my curiosity, my queerness, my love, my pain, my uncertainties, and my quietness.
Through motifs of community, connection, and queerness, Hannah develops heavily patterned work that incorporates imagery of the natural world and intricate surface design. In addition to creating multi-media, print-heavy pieces, Hannah's fiber work emphasizes repetition and color interactions.
The exhibit will be on display at the Longview Gallery from January 4th to February 22nd. Open houses occur every Sunday from 12 to 3pm. Appointments can be made throughout the week to visit the gallery here.
Their show will explore the theme of seeking tenderness within and outside of ourselves.
My hope is that the pieces lend themselves to you as windows to see more of me, more of this world, more birds, and, perhaps, more of yourself.
OPENING RECEPTION | January 4th from 5 - 8PM
If you can’t make it to the opening, mark your calendars for the 1st Saturday in February. We will hold a Midshow Reception on February 1st, featuring live music.
Hope to see you soon x
