Weekly Gallery Open House

  • Sundays 12pm to 3pm

Perched atop a hill in Chester Springs, the Longview Farm sits on 12 acres of wildflower meadows and hardwood forest with a long view of the arborous Chester County countryside. The barn and farmhouse have been around since the mid-nineteenth century.

Longview Farm is a place of creativity, human connection, family building, and environmental awareness. Our primary goals are supporting the local arts community, conserving land, and building a safe, inclusive gathering space.

Public visits occur only during scheduled hours (Sundays 12–3), events, or by registration for programs. Longview Farm is open to the public for seasonal community gatherings tied to exhibitions or workshops. The barn may be available on a limited basis for small, art and community-related gatherings, and workshops by inquiry.

Outside of scheduled public hours, Longview Farm is a private residence.

The property, and its various walking paths through fields and woods, provide space for recreation, dog-walking, meditation, etc. Guests with furry friends are welcome to reserve their time at the farm.

The original 19th-century hay barn now operates as the Longview Gallery.

The gallery features rotating bimonthly art exhibitions. Additionally, the barn can be reserved on a case-by-case basis for private occasions, workshops, or classes.

Just a short drive from Marsh Creek, French Creek, and Hibernia State Parks, there are numerous local trails and preserves nearby. The hubbub of neighboring West Chester and Phoenixville makes for a lovely art gallery & dinner date night.

Join us Sundays & every 1st Saturday!

Sunday Open Houses are from 12 to 3pm—visitors are welcome to enjoy complimentary coffee/tea while browsing the art.

On 1st Saturdays, we are either opening a new art exhibition or enjoying live music for a mid-show reception. Music is part of the reception atmosphere, rather than a designated concert. We start at 5pm and wrap up at 8pm!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you an actual active farm?

A: We’re working on it! We’ve been in touch with USDA and NRCS to determine best use of the land and support existing conservation and natural species initiatives. We’ve also made contact with local farms to learn from their experience. We’re interested in small-scale, sustainable agriculture, and food safety in the area, as well as providing education on native species and invasives.

Q: Is there parking on the property?

A: Yes! The right side of the driveway, on the grass, is designated parking for visitors. We have a few spots at the far end of the driveway, but those are typically reserved for the family. Additionally, there is a turnaround on Cedar Lane about 500ft before the Longview Farm sign - the “overflow” parking.

Q: Are you family-friendly?

A: Of course - we love kids. The property is home to a toddler, so there are plenty of toys, and just general space to run around!

Q: How can artists apply?

A: We don’t have an application process. Artists can leave their business cards with staff and/or email the Gallery Coordinator (leah@visitlongviewfarm.com) to express their interest in exhibiting.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Cedar Lane is located off of Route 100/Pottstown Pike. Ludwig’s Oyster Bar is right down the hill from us. We are not Cedar RIDGE Lane (common mistake).
