We are getting the gallery ready for this Saturday.
There is a new exhibition opening at the Longview Gallery this weekend! We’re following the latest show—an intergenerational family story—with another multiple-artist show.
“Triple Vision” will feature the artwork of abstract artists Barbara Shelly, Denise Sedor, and Laurie Lamont Murray. The artists met a decade ago in a painting class at Wayne Art Center led by Kassem Amoudi. They have since remained collaborators and friends.
Each of us takes a distinctly different approach to artmaking, but there are some common threads: we are not bound by rules or realism.
In preparation for Saturday’s opening, we wanted to share with you some behind-the-scenes images taken during the first install day.
This will also provide a sneak peek for what to expect from “Triple Vision.”

Preparing a show at Longview Gallery looks different from one exhibition to another.
Many times, the artist and gallery collaborate on hanging and curating, other times the artist takes the lead, and sometimes it is the gallery’s lead—as is the case here.
Below is a short video capturing some of the initial curation process. As you can see, there is a lot of standing, staring, and moving art around until we find the right balance and story.
“Triple Vision” will be on display at Longview Gallery from September 6th to October 25th.
This exhibition includes both 2D and 3D artwork. Between the three talented artists, we guarantee there is art to interest more than one type of admirer.
Opening Reception | September 6th | 5PM to 8PM
Midshow Reception | October 4th | 5PM to 8PM
The receptions are public events with light refreshments provided. If you can’t make it to the opening, mark your calendars for the midshow reception (featuring live music)!
Everyone is welcome.
