Thank You for Coming | Pushing Up Daisies
Here is a recap of the current exhibit's opening reception.
On the 1st Saturday in May, we celebrated the opening of “Pushing Up Daisies” by local fine artist Shayna Parker.
Thank you for joining us to celebrate Shayna and the new exhibit! It was a lovely evening, overflowing with fresh spring energy. The storms held out for us—which we deeply appreciated.
The spring welcomes rebirth and growth, a theme that Pushing Up Daisies explores, so it is fitting that the exhibit opens during this season.
This body of work represents the culmination of 45 years of lived experience. 25 years as a professional artist, 5 years of motherhood, and 9 focused months of painting. All but 2 of these pieces—aside from a few backgrounds—were created since August 2024.

The next reception is on June 7th, which marks the halfway point of the exhibit and inaugurates the second month. There will be an Artist Talk by Shayna Parker and live music by a special guest.
For this show, I’ve chosen a subject I rarely stray from: flowers. Nature’s gift to color, flowers represent growth, fragility, tenderness, and beauty.
Shayna worked diligently to put this body of work together, while running a business and being a mother. It marks a milestone in her career. In order to not let her hard work be in vain, come experience the exhibit in person.
