This past weekend, we celebrated the opening of “Kami: Interpreting the Beauty of Nature Through 3 Generations.” Thanks for joining us!
This is the first time the Longview Gallery has housed three generations of artists in the same exhibit. Not just any generations, but artists of the same family—Kiya Nicole, Miho Kahn, and Eiko Kahn.
Encapsulating over one hundred cumulative years of work, this is the first time their work has been shown together.
Their work blends delicately with the gallery’s historic structure and countryside setting. Across their different art practices, they carry a collective theme of nature.
Kiya, Miho, and Eiko are all talented individuals who explore a variety of creative mediums. It is an honor to host their art in the gallery. Not to mention that Eiko is 96 years old!
“Each of us has looked to our mother for guidance—both in life and in artistic expression. Through observation, reverence for nature, and the shaping force of personal experience, we each found that visual media became our clearest language.”

A special part of this exhibit (and a first for the gallery) is that we looped two videos during the reception that guests could watch with subtitles and/or listen to with headphones.
One of these was Miho Kahn’s award-winning short film “To the Wood.” The other was a short documentary from 2023 about the artists titled “She to the Fourth Power.”
*These short films will be available to view during our Sunday open hours for the duration of the exhibit.
The opening reception’s atmosphere was one of friendship and laughter, which gives you an idea of how special these artists are. Thank you to Bridge Street Chocolates for sponsoring the event with delicious chocolates. Follow them on social media and visit their storefront in Phoenixville!
Consider visiting the gallery during the time that KAMI is on display.
The exhibit runs until August 30th. Our next reception is on Aug. 2nd, celebrating the show’s halfway point—there will be outdoor live music by 4-piece band, IDRA!
Don’t forget… weekly Sunday hours at the gallery from 12 to 3pm.
This was an amazing opening. So many old friends and new acquaintances. Bravo!
