“Forged Imagination” is on view through October 31st, and we’re opening the barn on 1st Saturday for an evening with the artist!
Nilanjan Bhowmik is a mixed media artist and metalsmith based in Chester County whose work explores the intersections of industrial nostalgia, imagination, and contemporary craftsmanship.
Bhowmik approaches antiques with a sense of curiosity and wonder, often describing the experience as being “like a kid in a candy shop.” Inspired by the stories embedded in each object, he creates imaginative visual narratives that highlight their unique character. His work blends metalsmithing, hand painting, and ongoing experimentation with a variety of materials and techniques.
The Midshow Reception—celebrating the halfway point of this exhibition’s run in our gallery—is coming up in less than two weeks.
The reception offers a chance to meet the artist, learn more about his creative process, and hear him speak about his work. Guests can also enjoy live acoustic music throughout the evening.
A few things to know before joining us for the Midshow Reception:
→ Potluck-style gathering. Feel free to bring a dish or snack to share.
→ Complimentary light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by the gallery.
→ BYOB welcome
→ 5PM to 8PM, rain or shine
